I think that cutting is really stupid. That's the bottom line. The only reason people do it is because they're crying out for attention and help. It's a simple as this--if you've got problems, get help. And think about it, if you REALLY wanted to kill yourself, why would you slit your wrists when you could just cut your jugular.
That's about the most ignorant things I've ever heard.

If you think cutting is stupid, then ignore it. No one asked you what you thought of it.

It's not always for attention. I used to do it, I think I would know. I did it because it made me forget my emotional pain. As much as that doesn't make sense to anyone who doesn't do it, well, that's pretty much why. I always did my best to cover it, no one really noticed. Only one of my best friends have, when I was at her house & we were going to bed & I was taking off my bracelet. I quickly covered it up but she said something about a week later. She didn't seem too concerned. But I felt guilty because later on she did it too, after her boyfriend broke up with her. I felt like I was the one to blame.

Not everyone can get help. It isn't as easy as it sounds. Maybe you have the money to go to a doctor or have someone you can talk to, but I sure as hell didn't have either one. I still do it sometimes, honestly. Well, now it's more like a scratch than a deep cut so it isn't very noticable.

Isn't it a little insensitive to tell people to go to cut their jugular? Some people really have problems. Just because your life is **bleep** perfect doesn't mean everyone's just making everything up or whatever you're trying to get at. People like you seriously sicken me.

The biggest thing that annoys me about kids cutting themselves today is that people take it as a fad. Today, emo has become a lot more mainstream and a lot more people have started cutting themselves because they think that it's the cool thing to do. Because of the stupid emo bands, it's now cool to be sad and angsty. Seriously, if you xanga surf through the sites of emo kids, a lot of people take pictures of hte designs that they carve into their arms....and in their comments, people say things like "Oh that's so cool!"
However, if you're doing it for that reason.. I'll agree. Those people should go cut their juglars. [/b][/quote]
Thank you Jamie. You said EVERYTHING I wanted to say.

And the girl who said they should just cut their juggular... You're rude. Extremely rude. Not everyone who cuts themselves want to die. For a lot of people, it's the opposite.

And to the person below me who said everyone has their opionion, I agree completely with that but there is a fine line between having an opinion and being rude.

And yes, I'll agree that now it's the fad for emo kids. But what about the people who aren't emo and cut themselves? My dad does it. I don't think he's emo. I do/did it. I'm definatly not emo at all.

I think cutting is a very personal topic and topic about self mutilation aren't needed. It's too personal. If someone has a problem with cutting, a teen blogring board isn't going to help you. You need to help yourself and no one here can do that for you.
