i know, myself, that it's a very stupid thing to do.. but i also, am i victim of this. it's been a whole year since i started. i got caught, & got some help, so i don't do it anymore. however, i still think of it. no one will ever know the true story of someone, so really.. it isn't so nice to judge someone just because they hurt themselves or not. sometimes the person really does go through so much that they can't handle.
from experience though, being "the cutter" can leave you permanent scars inside, & also that's how people will end up remember you as. i lost some friends.. because of that. lesson learned, thank you.
