Chapter 1
The chilly breeze of the ocean brushed my hair. Another rush of wind toyed with the coldness of tears against my cheeks. I reached down to the garment that flowed gently on my body. Never have I ever felt so beautiful in anything before. I took a step forward then stopped to look down. Huge waves of the ocean splashed against the rocky shores.
"If you're going to jump, might as well do it now."
I turned around and saw a tall young man standing next to his car staring back at me. He had his hands in his pockets and was oddly wearing a beanie in the summer. Nonetheless, he knew how to dress himself.
"Why don't you do it, get it all over with?" He said and slowly walked my way. He stopped at the edge of the cliff and looked towards the rising sun.
"Why are you encouraging me?" I asked.
"Why wouldn't I? If that really is your decision, you should carry it out." He said. "Unless you're scared." He turned to face me.
"There's nothing left in this world to be scared of anymore." I replied.
"Then why don't you stop focusing on the bad and focus on the good?" He said.
"Like what? I see no good around me." I said. He nodded his head towards the horizon.
"Don't tell me that's not beautiful." He said. As much as would like to prove him wrong, there really was no way. Who knew looking at a sun rise would bring so much emotion to the heart.
"People say sun rise can mean rebirth. Maybe it's time for you to start over. I personally don't know who you are or how you're living your life, but sadly whatever it is that's driving you to doing this will live inside you for all your life. It's your choice of whether to live with it or choosing the path that you are now. Just because today is a horrible day, doesn't mean tomorrow won't be the best day of your life; you just got to get there." He said.
He turned around to walk back to his car. My eyes were still kept on him. He opened his door and turned around to me.
"I hope you won't leave all the beauties on earth that the eyes still have to see. And I hope you won't rid of another beatiful person from this world." He got into this car and slowly drove away.
I turned around to get my last glimpse of the sun rise. Then took my step forward.
