Ya..Ya.. We all know the popular mainstream animes like Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hak... and those shows on Adult Swim and CN.

However, there are many golden animes that arn't known by the public yet and if you happen to know and love one, this is the place to shout out to the world screaming "This anime will rock your socks!!"

Well let me start.

--------
Elfen Lied (German for Elf Song)
Genre - Romance, Action, Drama with a bit of Comical Cuteness
# of Episodes - 13 + 1 OVA (which is known as Episode 10.5)

If you don't like blood. Boy! This anime sure isn't for you buddy. Heads roll like tumble weed in a bad western film. This anime also contains a lot of mature content which may turn off younger viewers. However there are no sex scenes despite the numerous nude scenes.

The anime touches upon themes that maybe considered unethical (wrong word huh?) by Western society. These include and not limited to; incest and human sadism. However, if you can look past these facts, then you're in for a real treat! This anime is beautifully presented. The characthers are extremely lovable despite their potential to brutally wipe out humanity off the face of the planet.

here's more info if you're interested (WARNING: This site can really spoil the whole thing for you though) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elfen_lied

------

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien
Genre - Romance
# of Episodes - 14

If you like a good cry, then this is totally recommended. Never before have I cried so much watching an anime. (I would like to mention that I am not a wimp (:, I happen to be a cadet officer of an anonymous Military Academy in New York and a mediocre football player as well!)

Well back to the topic before I digress any further. Unlike other romance anime, this anime does not have your typical magical robot girls or your fluttering faeries that plague so many other animes of the same genre. This anime realistically conveys the other side of love; the depressing and cruel one.

Here's a warning : The first episode is the prolouge and may turn viewers away due to it's typicalness (is that even a word?).

-----

I have a lot more, but I'm too lazy to finish the rest. [:
All these animes can be found on www.Youtube.com or downloaded off bittorrent. If you have any questions, feel free to IM me. (Splooshfoosh) I may rudely attack you though.

Fancy a cuppa tea, love?

Initial D.

Take a break from that disgusting Fast and Furious media and hype, and see something purely gold and original. Initial D is filled with depth, mystery, and explains so much 'science' about racing - nothing like professional racing, or going in 500 laps around a circle, or a bland track - Oh, and I'd recommend the Japanese version. Tokyopop's dub is fine and dandy, but for some, it's too "pimped out".

Monster - A really captivating anime. Brilliant and deep. 72 episodes but I was on edge every second.
Serial Experiments Lain - A very abstract/deep anime. Not for those who don't like to think.
Ouran High School Host Club - Probably the funniest anime I have ever watched. If you need a laugh, watch this one.
Death Note - The series is still ongoing but it's definitely very brilliant so far.

Da Capo is a great anime. There are 21 episodes for the first season, and the same for the second season as well as Da Capo II and a Da Capo II second season is on the way!
It's a seinen, but a great love story with some magical elements. It's really cute and I definitely recommend it.

if you aren't living life on the edge, then you're taking up too much space in the world...
