After meeting with the true owner of the Death Note, a Shinigami named Ryuk, Light seeks to become "the God of the new world" by passing his judgement on criminals.

Soon, the number of inexplicable deaths of reported criminals catches the attention of the International Police Organization and a mysterious detective known only as "L". L quickly learns that the serial killer, dubbed by the public as "Kira"(derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the English word "Killer"), is located in Japan. L also concludes that Kira can kill people without laying a finger on them. Light realizes that L will be his greatest nemesis, and a race to prove mental superiority between the two begins.
Anyone read or watch it?
Anime:crunchyroll.com - Death Note (eww it's dubbed thoug i think?)
Manga:StopTazmo.com Stopping Criminals (NarutoFan.com) in the Act

I've read all of the manga so far and the anime episodes released, though I haven't seen the live-action films. I encourage reading/watching it, if you want a break from the mundane "Zomgz! Boy likes girl but is too shy girl who also might like him but might not but then again boy might like some other girl too" love triangle reoccuring as a theme. And if that doesn't entice you, although some facts are altered in the films, the two films released have risen to #1 at the Japanese box office, even surpassing The Da Vinci Code.

GRR Watch it!

Though I'm disappointed with the ending o_<

It actually sounds really interesting, kinda like something I would totally be interested in seeing. Any idea how many episodes there are (so far)? Sad to say I can't watch anything with too many episodes. Lack of time =|

I think there's 13 so far; I'm not sure how many they are making though, since they are still in the middle of the process xP

I'm thinking the anime might be better for this, since it's coupled with dramatic sound effects, and the different voices might make such and such's thoughts clearer. Whenever they kept alternating the thought bubbles in manga i got confused, then I glazed out and skimmed @_@

Naw, Death Note at CR is subbed. I don't think there's currently a dubbed version since it's still airing; however, I know Viz Media is making some sort of deal with fansubbers or something like that (I'll look for the article later, if anyone's interested). It's a pretty brilliant anime. I think it's going up to 37 episodes or something.

I watched the movies and loved them. I might even read the manga if I have the time. I never knew there were so many episodes, though.

Yes, meloo doesn't know the difference between "dubbed" and "subbed".
Still watching the subbed versions, but they take too long and I'm not asian (nor Japanese) enough to understand it normally.

Oh I meant subbed in my last post. Whutev. Hah I got confused since i thought at first that crunchyroll only put dubbed anime; I was too lazy to check in my first post, and only noticed that some episodes were dubbed.

Ah, Death Note is awesome. I started reading it not too long ago and have covered four volumes. Light has awesome emo hair, and L is just...omg. xD

The mangaka must be really smart to have thought of the whole storyline. Light and L are both extremely intelligent.

// Oh, Blogring. Rest in peace.
