For my AP Stats project, I need to find a graph that I believe is deceptive and then redraw it and do all this analysis. I'm perfectly willing and capable to do the redrawing, analysis, and all the rest of that statisticky stuff, but I'm having trouble finding a graph that I want to use.
Rather than just linking me to the graph image, I would prefer that you link me to the page that you found it on. If it could be on an at least.. moderately interesting topic, that would be awesome. But if not, I guess that's okay too.
Even if you can't tell whether a graph is deceptive or not, still feel free to post it here! A great way to find deceptive graphs, though, is to go to individual companies' web pages and find graphs that look overwhelmingly favorable for the company; that look so good that you just can't believe it. Example: Go to the McDonalds website and find a graph that shows that McDonalds' burgers are more healthier than Subway sandwiches. Obviously this graph has been cleverly manipulated, so just link the page back here to me.
A topic to steer you in the right direction - I'm sure that there are plenty of graphs out there made by fast food copmanies that are supposed to be showing that fast food is healthy, yada yadda. Something like that might not be too hard to find.
Remember: find graphs that are trying to prove things that you really don't believe - they are highly likely to be deceptive. If you can find some today, that would be great. I'll probably close this sometime early tomorrow, or whenever I find a graph that works myself. Bps will be paid accordingly depending on how much you want and how good the graph is. Thanks a billion, guys. =)
