I pretty much agree with what everyone has said.

Unfortunately, it doesn't stop a lot of victims blaming themselves for what happened to them. Afterall, if skimpy or "easy" (to access) clothing attracts an attacker and you are attacked, then it's easy to feel ashamed and guilty for your actions...

A lot of people who've been raped feel guilty and blame themselves, even if they hadn't worn skimpy clothing. And it doesn't help that a lot of their families will even tell the victim that it was their fault. <_<

That's so true.
I sometimes wonder how people have the mentality that "somehow it's all the victims fault..."

Actually, I heard that most rapists go for a woman with her hair in a ponytail. It's easier to grab all of the hair instead of just a chunk of it.

People dress skimpy because they want to be sexually appealing. so in a way, it kind of makes sense that it would happen to them. Of course, no one should be raped, and even if the person were naked, it wouldn't be their "fault". But dressing like a hooker is definately helping your chances of being sexually abused. Women should just dress modestly. The only reason not to is, like I said, to be sexually appealing. In which case you are provoking (I didn't say "evoking") a sexual response, whether it be a crude comment, a butt-pinch, or even rape.

Rapists go for women who are/look vulnerable. They also look for oppertunity which is the skirt part you are refering too.
Dresses would also work by that method.

Rapists use force, either psycological or physical. Usually beating or knifes, etc.

It doesn't evoke the rapist, it's all just oppertunity and vulnerablity.

Rape really isn't about the sex, it's about power. I don't think that that kind of clothing evokes a rapist, after all, nuns have been raped, when there were tons of girls in bikinis around.

i agree, no matter who you are or what you wear you are a potential victim. Rapists go after who ever they want.

i didnt read the other posts, but like i think one of the first posters said, it depends on the rapist...and i dont think the way you dress is like a really big factor, i mean, yah, it is a factor, but there could be like some really really beautiful girl in like jeans and a t-shirt and she has as much of a chance of being raped as a girl in short shorts and a see through blouse..
