Do Parents have the right to look through your bookbag, search your room, screen your calls?

Yes, if you do not own this stuff. If you're not paying for your phone bills, they have the right to do whatever they want with your phone. If you're not renting out your room, they have every right to look through it. If they bought you your bookbag, they have every right to search it.

If you have nothing to hide-you have nothing to worry about. Parents checking things out prevents drug use in a big way-suicide too. Should a parent go through and read your journal-hell no. But do they have a right to know who they are living with-i think yes

Yeah. Parent`s have the right to go through your life and check to see if you`re not doing anything wrong.

As long as you`re living under their roof, get over it. They have the right to check your stuff.

But don`t think you can run off so they don`t control you. xP

If you don`t have anything to hide, you shouldn`t worry about them going over your stuff.

This is goodbye.
Who knows when I'm coming back.

Parent's can do whatever they want to you until you turn 18 or become emancipated. So whatever they say goes.

Though, I wish they wouldn't because it shows a lack of trust in their child.

Maybe Im cool with it because my mom was really liberal with me. I was trusted until i gave her a reason not to.

she never went through my stuff, and like the one or two times she did-i didnt make a big deal about it. I had nothing to hide. I pretty much was allowed to go where ever i wanted, whenever i wanted...

Yet, because i had so much freedom, I didnt drink, I didnt smoke, I didnt have sex (well..not a lot of the latter ) I never snuck out because I never needed to. I always checked in whenever i was somewhere and I really had no reason to be bad. The only time i ever got grounded was when i brought home anything lower than a c. C was usually light grounding anything lower i was screwed. lol.

Yeah they do. Who feeds you, gives you hot water to take showers with, bought you that backpack and almost everything in your room?

I think it can be aggravating, but just find cool places to hide things.

Yes they do. Besides, they have reasons to snoop through things. They just want to protect you, however nosy and unnecessary their tactics may seem.

Most of my stuff were bought with my parent's money, anyway. So technically, my computer, backpack, etc. belongs to them.
