tickets to the prom at my high school cost at least $85.00 and most people I know aren't at all offended at that price.
Don't call me stupid for misunderstanding your post, I'm very well aware of what I read could also be misinterpreted differently for other people as well.

At least we agreed on ONE thing, as long as anybody is on school grounds, there should be rules to stop bad behavior in dances. Schools were created for learning and to promote some displine into teen's lives, where would they (including myself) be if there were no boundaries that were set out?

Look per my "non-retarded people doing retarded behavior" comment.

Yet, they didn't, because the_cheat understands a bit more about the nuances of the language. I don't think you realize how big of a role language plays in a debate, because a single phrase interpreted incorrectly can ruin the entirety of an argument. If you can't interpret a sentence, then it makes it a pain to argue with you.

We'd probably create our own boundaries, though they'd be a good deal different from the ones set by society.

I think I made one mistake, and its not even allowed. And yes, it is somewhat a bad thing to pay so highly for tickets to a prom or a dancing event at school but if they like to go to great lengths to enjoy a good time (hoping to anyways) then let them be.

It already is kinda "banned" at my school. If they see it, then they kick you out. Atleast from what I've heard, seeing as though I've never gone to one of our high school dances.
Freak dancing is sexual, I don't know if I would even call it dancing. It certainly doesn't take any "real" skill.

They probably aren't even doing it to have a good time. It's called they are trying get someone. Or impress someone.

True but everybody is allowed to enjoy themselves, okay I see the arguments coming my way to attack that first statement but yeah, dancing dirty would result in a Saturday detention at my school also.

And I wasn't talking about dancing sexually to have a good time- I was refering to buying an expensive ticket for the prom or some other dance event o__O

If you want to freak dance, why the hell would you go to a school dance to do it? I never understood why and I think it's one of the stupidest things people do. If you want to freak dance...GO TO A CLUB. Don't go to your lame high school dance held in the gym. And I'm guessing as most of you know (or at least the ones that are actually in high school) that in a school, not all the same rules of "freedom" apply. C'mon, this is high school we're talking about. Your rights are not being infringed upon if they ban freak dancing because you're doing it on their property. Thus, they can do as they wish. Don't like it? Too bad, that's life. Get over it and have a house party and dry hump all you want in your own house.

in a a new report, the whole "ban freaking" in northern california came from a parent who was chaperoning a high school dance in which she saw "girls coming from the middle of the dance floor wiping (for lack of a better word) male bodily fluids from their faces". now i think this parent was just panicing. but the story- thats just gross.

ponder on that for a while.

Well, the center of a dance floor does cause sweat.

The parent saw girls wiping off sweat, thought it was [think about it]. She then probably realized it was just sweat, but later decided that she can get in the news if she was to say her comment.

i don't see anything wrong with freak dancing. who cares? dancing is dancing isn't it? and for the school dances, they are social events, have fun with them you're only in highschool once guys. i'll tell you, i miss highschool and i've been out of it for a year (freshmen in college). main reason for school dances, TO HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE HIGHSCHOOL EXPERIENCE! get busy living or get busy dying.

Life is not the amount of breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away....

Yes they should ban it. We're at school, not a club.
