we should all just look at Amsterdam and take their example.* all prostitutest of Amsterdam are to be registered with the government, they are to have i believe monthly or annual (forgot which one) check ups for any type of diseases.* there we go, problem solved.
That isn't a bad idea.

So what happens on TV is what happens in real life? Doubtful. Is every cheerleader a busty blonde?
Thinking like that only worses things.
Doubtful, agree. But can you said those things don't happen? Okay, I admit the majority part of my arguement is wrong, but those examples you gave just proves more about the situitation forces those girls into prosituition. They don't born as sluts.

And what about Porn stars? They are paid to have sex, just like prostitutes. Is there a difference between that and prostitution?
I haven't though of it that way before..., wait I got it. Pron stars are WILLING. I'm not against anyone who choose to be porn star, and plus Pron Stars are treated better than prostitutes... so Pron Stars are not the case here. I believe Prostitution should be legal (to some extent) just because I believe those prositiutes are getting abused... and should have rights to protect them.

Last time I heard, prostitutes are willing too, and the way prostitutes are treated has nothing to do with it being illegal. Many times prostitutes are abused for the reason that the abuser knows that the prostitute won't run to the police. If prostitution was legal, prostitutes would be much more willing to go to the police when they are abused.

I'll say that Prostiution to some extent, as long as no one force her.
Well, that would be rape, and that is illegal.

I feel that prostitution should definetely be legal, so long as the prostitute is regularly checked for STDs and other sorts of problems. Also, condoms should always be worn, and the prostitute should set her own limits as to what she will/will not perform.

I have actually had the privledge of speaking with a prostitute. She was from Australia (I think it was Australia), and she explained the way it works there, where it is legal. Basically, she makes the rules on what goes and what doesn't. Condoms are always worn, she wouldn't perform certain acts that may be unsanitary or acts she was not comfortable with, and she has to regularly be checked for STDs and other problems. Based on the way she described it, it is much safer than here in the US, and all parties involved remain safe and happy with the results.

This is exactly how it works in the brothels in Nevada. There, the customers are also thoroughly evaluated for lumps and assorted signs of STDs prior to anything taking place. Prostitutes register with the state, and have an ID card for their line of work.

That form of prostitution is fine. I disagree with "street corner" prostitutes (which are illegal in Nevada, I might add.)

*aren't
(I'm thinking English isn't your first language, though. XD)

I don't get what you're trying to say.
Prostitution is the result of the media? As in ... what they see on TV makes them think that selling their body is the only way to make money.

The sluts comment doesn't make sense.
Nobody's born anything, except for a human. Being a slut is an accquired trait, we all know that.

Prostitution should be legalized, if only so it can be organized. That and that people should be able to choose for themselves. If prostitution is the way, lets at least be safe about it.

I agree: legalize it to make it safer.

The only way to prevent STDs is to not have sex. [and in some cases, not to share drug needles, which is bad for you anyways] So there really isn't a way to prevent it unless the law states "all prostitutes must get tested for STDs."
[/b]

thats kinda what i ment. I dont know why i didnt elaborate.

If you make it legalized, the state would most likely require tests. If you fail your test...no more prostituting.

currently, they can have one and never know. And who knows how many people they then pass it on to.
Yes, abstinence is the best way to prevent STDs. But if you are turning to a prostitute, abstinence is the LAST thing on your mind.

Although I'm against prostitution and porn and everything, prostitution...is sort of like porn. I mean, I don't see a difference. But then again, I don't think there should be porn...

But I think prostitution should and should not be legal. I mean, there are cons and pros. If it becomes legal, there can be laws protecting prostitutes from abusement and also diseases. However, if it becomes legal, there can be more prostitution and...yeah. But if it does become legal, I think there should definitely be an age limit.

BTW, some people can find jobs that pay well without an education. Honestly, I rather live on the streets than prostitute.

i miss blogring.

I'm not sure where I heard this, but the state of Nevada makes more money with legalized prostitution than California spends trying to prevent it.

Prostitution is a job that's been around for thousands of years. Keeping it illegal won't stop it, but legalizing it can help control it and bring in tax dollars to the state.
