Should People Be Allowed To Make Racist Sites?

Go on xanga and you will see sites that are mainly for people hating on other races and just being racist..Now i know people are allowed to say whatever they want but hatred sites are against xanga rules now am i right?

now i think these sites shouldnt be allowed yet why are they still on?

Since Xanga is a privately owned website, it is up to the admins at Xanga to ban these websites. Since it is in the rules that racist Xangas are not allowed, the people creating the blogs are doing so at their own risk of deletion. Really, there's nothing more that can be done.

Personally, I think it`s wrong to make racist sites or any type of hate sites. But, like Vendetta said you`re allowed to post anything on the internet ..

The first amendment only applies to sites in the US. The rest of the world doesnt have to follow Americas laws for the internet.

But the internet is supposed to be a place where anyone can do anything. So if someone wants to make a racist site, and they put forth the hateful effort to do so, thats their right. You dont have to agree with it.

See I think freedom of speech is fine once it doesn't hurt anyone else and making these types of sites will most likely pick up ignorant followers and it'll just get bigger. Eventually it'll lead to hate crimes and physical violence towards the race being targeted on the site. Yes, even without the sites hate crimes will still exist but a site makes it easier to organize.

Some people may look at it as "harmless" thinking oh it's just a website but they don't think of the actual consequences that follow.

I don't think it should be allowed because it promotes ignorance and hate.
