hehe, Grace I love how you posted this. But, yes, I know the difference. A few years ago, someone would try to explain it to me and I would look at them like they were crazy. Occasionally when I'm writing, it'll trip me up for a second, but I go back and correct it.

Affect means something that happens to you or someone else, and Effect means a thing you or someone else did to make things happen.

yup. i used to just use "effect" and totally disregard "affect" but in my dictionary, there's a section about words people often confuse, so I've known ever since.
