I'm actually takin German 3 this year (but i speak some japanese too ^^) I learn best by notecards repeated like crazy..i use this on SAT words too. Also, I like my class and teacher, so I have a good attitude towards it, and that seems to help me tons. Also, its fun to get a friend to help you too. I also try to think of something the word sounds like and relate it to that (i cant think of one off the top of my head, i mainly use that for SAT) hope it helps!

Learning lauguages is not very difficult for me, I'm born with the skills. But one very important thing is that you need to get yourselves interested and concentrated. Listen to the lessons really carefully, take notes and read them thoroughly before quizzes, and you'll be fine. (If you have time, try reading the dictionary, maybe 5-10 words a day. You might not remember every single thing but it's really good for you.)

Spanish comes naturally easy compared to any other language, some of the words have common spelling with english words, but most of the time, there really isnt a trick to learning languages, its mostly about memorizing then applying it...(ex: watching spanish speaking channels or hang around spanish speakers)...that is how I learned Spanish.

but spanish has a buttload of cognates, so it's not that hard to learn. plus, if you're not a good speller, spanish words are usually spelled phonetically (how they sound). but for learning languages in general, the best way to really learn it is to find a way to use it! when i have a lot of free time on my hands, i write notes to my friends in spanish. ![]() A little shameless plug never hurts: Mella (my xanga) If quitters never win, and winners never quit, who came up with the phrase Quit while you're ahead? |

Also, it helps to think in the language too. "Yo necessito comprar al libro." or something. Thinking in the language helps your brain wrap itself around the words and your comprehension increases. |

use it regularly while talking (or trying to talk) to your friends so you familiarize yourself it, even if they don't understand you. I take spanish but it's not that hard, but there is alot of memorization.
