I hate the new changes. I mean two sections of it is all english. Math proves how smart you are. And mostly, most americans can score higher on the sat than foreigners but in fact it's because americans score higher on the reading and writing section. Soon, we wil not have any inventors since the foreigners won't have as much of a chance to get in. I think they should change it back. I mean the american curriculum for math is so inferior compared to other math curiculum like in russia or asain countries. I don't really want to type a lot and go on and on so i'll just tell you that i really dislike the new changes.

This is *sort of* off-topic, but what's the difference between the ACT, SAT, PSAT, etc.? I know that some colleges require the ACT test instead of SAT...that's all...

Generally...and I'm saying generally...

Colleges/Universties located on the West coast would want your SAT scores. Those in the East coast requires the ACT. Your best bet for getting into the colleges/universities you want would be to take both. Don't limit yourself by only taking either of those and stopping yourself from applying to colleges all across the nation.

Correct me if I'm wrong. ^_^

Well thats one good thing about living in Oklahoma, we don't have SATs we have the ACTs. I have taken 3 tests, all my sophmore year (I'm going into my Junior year). The ACTs are graded on a 1-36 scale. To get into a major University here you have to have about a 23-25. 19-22 for a smaller college. My highest is an 18. We have the tests, I think 6 or 7 times a school year, so I have about 10 left before I apply for a college. Isn't there only 1 test a year for the SATs?

oh and for everyone freaking out bout the eesays, one thing. if they ask you about a life experience and you don't have anything interesting then Oxymoron

also, when you write. put in make believe quotes. make the quote by some old dead guy that has a name. like William Abbey (i personally don't know anyone by that name.) it sounds like he said it. fit the name around the quote and give them an occupation. like this: as William Abbey, a british chemist, once said "blah, blah, blah...." hope it helped.[/b]
Haha, cool, I do the making-something-up thing when I have to; it does not really matter if the situation you are writing about is true or not, I guess, because what is going to be judged is your writing ability. Bah, I probably would not be too good at making up a believable quote, though, at least not one by a "famous person."

The CAHSEE only covers math content that is up to... I think geometry? And there is definitely no brain-surgery-level stuff, so most people should not have that much trouble passing it, I think.

I am not that worried about the new SAT; most people say that it is not that much different? Of course, there is the new required essay.
