LOL, interesting.

I'm sure I can use it up pretty quickly. If anyone has a TV Tuner, and they constantly record shows, it'll get used up pretty fast.

My cousin is a game freak. He basically has every game known to man on his computer. He has dozens of external drives to keep his stuff, hah.

I thought it was 1,240 GB... or maybe it was 1,420 GB.
1 GB = 1028 MB
1 TB = 1028 GB

This HD would be good for all of you porn lovers.

Actually, you're both wrong.

1TB = 1024 GB

1 terabyte = 1 048 576 megabytes
1 048 576 megabytes = 1 024 gigabyte
1 024 gigabyte = 1 terabyte

Why would anyone ever want a hard drive that massively big? I've got a 260GB and I'm not anywhere near filling it up.

For commercial use, I would guess. 3d animation on a professional scale takes a lot of space.

Pretty much, but I don't see much use for an external drive that big for commerical use.

more space is required because with technoledgy getting better and better, programs will have higher graphics and require more resources and harddrive space. back when computers came out, my parents thought they'd never use up their 10 KB harddrive. and games used to come on 4 floppies.; everything is increasing in size and in awsomeness. i got a game called tribes recently, it isnt that great, and its fairly short, but it still take up 5 gigs of harddrive space.

Microsoft announced that the release of Longhorn will be largly due on hardware increases. they hope that when it comes out no computer will be running with less than a tb of HD and noless than 1-1.5 gigs of ram. seems off for the regular computer but just wait. as tech becomes more and more abundant, the price goes down.

Too bad its not an internal hard drive. =(

It'd be awesome to have one of those in my tower. That'd bloody rock.

no one would ever need that much space on their computer! I only have 30 gb and that's more than enough for me <_<
