While Macs are becoming increasingly popular, I sumply dont understand them lol. Windows has been around forever, and everyone knows how to use it. But the Mac computers have only recently started to become compatible with the number of Windows programs.

I'm kind of a computer geek.... I know my way around windows like the back of my hand. but I got onto a Mac and I couldn't even use Word.... it was horrible... Mac lovers argue that the hardware is better for multimedia production and playback.... which i love by the way... but I'm not talking about the hardware.... I'm talking about the operating system...

Which do you like better? Mac OS or Windows?

I personally like Windows a whole lot better. Macintosh has a HORRIBLE support team. I mean, i used to have an Apple iBook G4, it was ok hardware, and i kind of like the little toolbar, but it got a virus,so I called the support team, the were rude, snotty, and acted like jerks. I am leaning towards Linux, now, though...

I've never used Linux... i should check it out, and see what everyones talking about....

I'm burning a CD now.... and while I'm doing that, I realized just how much Windows was compatable with everything else. You can easily burn CD's with Windows Media Player (I'm a huge WMP fan too lol... i dont like Itunes or Jukebox... horrible lol) Anyway, the worlds kind of grown around Windows, and then Macintosh tries to make its own thing, which throws everything off....

Windows has been around about the same time as Apple. Apple was huge with the Apple 2 and microsoft was just starting to develop.

Both have their advantages (windows and Macs), Windows is good because almost every program is made for it. Its also user friendly, simple (for those who only know basics) but also complex. If you know what your doing you can make windows a wonderful Operating system. The only problem is that its a resource hog. It's huge. It is practicaly gurenteed to use a quarter of your RAM no matter how much RAM you have. It comes with almost every dependency installed so you dont have to worry about it, But that f_cks over the speed of the system.

Macs are good for multimedia. The Hierarchy allows it to multitask better and use the processor better. ...yea...

Linux is good because Linux its self is just a kernal. Thats all linux is. True linux does not have a graphic desktop. Its command line only. But almost every linux comes with Gnome or KDE. Linux comes with almost no Dependencies. So you dont have tons of processes running that dont need to be. But if you try to install a program that needs that dependency (for example Apache needs READLINE and such) you need to go find that and install it.

Linux is compatible with everything. Just about nothing is compatible with Linux.

I like both. I understand that people like using systems that they are familiar with, in this case that would be Windows for the majority of the people. But, once I started getting into video editing I am definitely voting for the MACs. The editing systems are so much more functional and easier to operate. iMovie, which comes on most harddrives when you buy it, is far better than Movie Maker. As always, that is just a sense of opinion.

Now, onto the subjects of iPods. I hate all mp3 players, so iPods would be no different. I don't like the fact that I have such a wide variety of music it would take too much time to find the song of my choice. That's just my choice.

So, if I had to choose Windows or Mac, I'd go with the Mac.
