artist note*: I know most of you have seen this banner before, but what better quote to use? This quote represents who I am, everything I believe in. Basically, the quote means you're able to be yourself, make your own choices and opinions, be an individual because we're free. Imagine living in a society where freedom of speech is punished? Where if we dressed any differently, thought any differently, did anything differently, we would be punished? I've always said individuality is my prized posession, and through this simple graphic, it shows just how much I cherish it. :]

Her quote fits with her graphic more & I don't see the connection between Ivy's graphic and quote.

Criss GMV

I loved Ivy's quote but the fact that her pictures didn't really have much relating to love but only nature..I thought it just didn't do anything for me.
Also, the blending seemed too simple, I would've liked her to do something that was more out of the ordinary.

gosh..originality is what criss is. the animation is a bit weird but it's so cute.
the face shape isn't that good but the text/font is just so well. the colors are really good and quote just stays in my mind for such a long time now.

It was super hard to choose one, but after staring at both until my eyes started to cross, I made a decision. >_<

IVY LAMHEAD
- I love the splatters around the border
- Pretty blend
- Nice pictures
- I'm not sure how the pillar and the lamp post are relevant

Both entries are great, but I voted for avalon's because of the quote and the way it tied in with the image.

Ivy:
+ I like how it's kind of an 'inverse pop-up,' in a way.
+ For <s>once</s> the second or third time this tournament, that font works beautifully.
+ Somehow, I can create a little background story to the way you built your graphic.
+ Concept is good.
- However, that was the worst timing for that.. =/
- I don't like how the middle image is in there.. there's a bit of an unnatural white on its right.

+ It's perfect for you. =]
+ The animation is awesome.
+ The drawing, again, awesome.
- A little simple for me.

It was a difficult choice for me, but in the end, I caved in and cave it to Ivy. But you BOTH did magnificent jobs.

Why does this have to be so hard?
The voting is so tough, I think its becuase its not just graphic skill we are rating..but how the person approaches the theme.
Ivy:
I really dont know how it relates to the theme...where's love?
I love the colors and the blending
I dont like the book..makes it so literate
why a light post?
I dont like the yellow brushing...looks messy

The hair could be more detailed..but that's just your style,I guess
I think the hearts could be a different color...black hearts make it sad
I love the pattern in the bg
I love the text position
Overall, I think its simple and a bit boring..but I love the thought behind it

I loved the quote but it was not portrayed well in your banner cause I can't tell any relevance to "Love" . The blending is nice but the book is out of place. The text is good and I like the simplicity but the pixel text would look better in deafult Arial. The green brushing isn't ovbious and is distracting when you actually see it.

The background is a bit plain but the image balance it out since you probably took some effort and time in "drawing" it.
The quote is too common for me. To be totally and truthfully honest with you if I were to take one look at the banner and not notice the quote, I would have never guess it was a "Be Yourself" theme.
The animation actually helped and for me it wasn't just a "cute" factor.
I can't really explain it but the animation was like "Hey Im Criss *wink* I can give a rat's butt what you think about me", thats good cause for me that was almost the only thing that expressed "yourself" aside from the quote.

Overall I didn't really think the theme was portrayed well in either banners but Criss has that something about her banner that fits (animation and image). Ivy is good at blend and Criss is good with the image drawings, but both could have taken their graphics to a different level.

I think Criss's theme stood out more than Ivy's.
I liked everything on Ivy's banner, but I thought Criss's theme grabbed my attention.

Criss--I love the animation, I think that you could have made the second image longer because you can't even see it. But I get the quote and it's a really nice drawing.

Ivy--I would have loved it if you used pictures from A Walk To Remember. But if you didn't have the quote there, and you made people make a quote for that banner, it would be like nature, beach, whatever related. Not really wind & love. So, it would have been niced if you included like something with love and not just wind.

-The green brushes are..ok i guess. Seems kind of random.

-I love how the theme represents you.
