Title: Framed Border Tutorial for Adobe Photoshop
By: x Mo0 [Maggie]
Difficulty: 2/10

Note: You don`t have to do it exactly as I do it, but this is one/my way of doing it.

This is an easy border tutorial. It looks best on abstract work. The ending result will be a nice border like this:

First off, open your Adobe Photoshop. Make something, anything you want. Now flatten the image [Layer >> Flatten].

Create a new layer [Layer >> New >> Layer] Your layer palette should look like this:

Now on your image, select all [right click image >> select all]. Now right click the image again and select 'Stroke...' A window should pop up. Put the settings to this [the color is 616161]:

Click okay. Now go to the layers palette. Hold Control [or Ctrl] and click on the layer with the border to select the border. Your border should now look like this:

Now go to Filter >> Artistic >> Colored Pencil

A window should pop up. Put the settings to this:

Click OK. Now go to Layer >> Layer Style >> Drop Shadow. Follow these settings.

[NOTE: You don`t have to set the style to exactly what I say, but to get my result, you must.]

Now to apply color. Click on the button on the bottom of the layers Palette that looks like a Ying-Yang symbol. Choose Color Balance like this:

This window should pop up:

Click on the Preview Checkbox so you can see the preview. Now use the sliders and experiment with colors. Remember that you can switch from Midtones to Shadows to Highlights. When you find a color you like click okay and your done =D

My Final Result [again]:

To get my color:
Midtones: -34, +8, +22
Shadows: -12, +2, +17
Highlights: -9, -4, -1
