This tutorial will show you how to make the edges of your image look grungy. I used Photoshop 7 for this, but i think it should work for anything above 7 too.
Step 1:
Open the image that you want to add this effect to. If the image has more than one layer, merge together the layers that you want the border on (eg: If you have a blend, merge all the different pics together). I will be using this image for this example:
Step 2:
Using the rectangular marquee tool, select your whole image.
Step3:
Go to Select > Modify > Border and put in 1 pixel
Step 4:
Go to Select > Feather and put in a setting around 15. I will use 15, but you can use a different setting based on how big or small you want the effect. The selection should look something like this:
Step 5:
Make sure that the layer you want the effect on is selected. GO to Filter > Texture > Craquelure. I used the setting 8, 5, 10, but you can can play around and see what you like. Click ok. It should something like this:
Step 6:
Hit Ctrl+D to deselect the selection and save your image.
