-start out with any reg pic.. i chose rachel bilson (again).. lol...

- name your first layer- LAYER 1.. now dupilcate LAYER 1 by right clicking your background layer and pressing duplicate layer.. call that layer LAYER 2...

- select the rectangular marquee tool.. go around the pic using the reactangular marquee tool on LAYER 2... dont do it too close to the edge because if you do it wont look as nice (in my opinion)

- now quick mask by pressing "q" and it must be on LAYER 2 *very important that it is on that layer*

- now go to filter- pixelate- color halftone (still LAYER 2)

- now set you get you settings.. put it to how you want.. play around with it... i put mines like this:

- it should look like this now.. if not go back and retrace ur steps..

- now press "q" again.. so it will look like this:

- now.. press "add vector mask".. so it will look like this:

- now delete the background layer (LAYER 1)

- so now it should look like this:

- WHICH MEANS YOUR DONE!!! SO TA-DA!! save it as GIF so it can be transparent..

Transparent sigs can only work in Firefox right? Coz when I'm trying to view it IE, it's not transparent.

It depends what format the transparency is in. In IE, .gifs are transparent (I viewed this tutorial in IE and it is transparent), but .pngs are not transparent on IE. People tend to save it on .png more because the quality is better, though.
