Title :: Transparent Bar
Description :: How to add a faded bar onto an image.
Difficulty :: 1/10
Versions :: All including Image Ready.

Make an image, any image you want. Flatten the image and copy [CTRL+C or Edit >> Copy].

Now open a new document. Set the dementions the same as your image, put the background content as White.

Paste your image [CTRL+V or Edit >> Paste] Now use the horizontal marquee too [] to select the area you want to have a transparent bar.

Copy what you have selected [CTRL+C or Edit >> Copy]. Hit delete to clear the selected area. Now Paste [CTRL+V or Edit >> Paste]. Now go to your layers palette and you should have selected teh top layer.

Change the Opacity to whatever you want (in my case I chose 50%) & there you go. Now put whatever text you want on it.

Optional - bar border
Select the layer with the bar. Go to Layer >> Layer Style >> Stroke. Set it to 1px, outside, black. Click OK. Then save it & you`re done.

My final product [with add-ons]:
