I read this yesterday! Again, another great idea!

Not to joke, but I think cigarette smoking is a horrid habit.
My grandfather smoked and about the age of 80 was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Not to get into grotesqueries (sp?) but I had to witness my G-pa spitting and choking up pieces of lung when he was already to that point of dying. He died in my house around April 3rd or so.
This reeeeeaally taught me an important lesson. Seeing him like that at (my opinion) so young an age where people today are living beyond 80 made me see that smoking was def. NOT for me. My father also smokes but he did not quit after taking care of my grandpa. It hurts to know that when he gets about as old, he probably will end up just like my G-pa unless he doesn't die of a heart attack or whatever other ailments smoking can cause.
So my opinion is: DONT SMOKE. Seriously, if you saw what I saw and smelled the rotteness that emitted from my own G-Pa, you wouldn't smoke.

That's my wisdom for today. Hopefully this will help you guys think of things to share also. Sorry to be down, but I feel happy because, of course, It taught me a lesson. So he did not die in vain.

*EDIT* I'm sorry if this doesn't belong here! I keep messing up and posting in the wrong areas. Grrrr!! Sorry if it is! I just thought I should share.
*And F.Y.I to you meanies (if any) I'm NOT complaining. I'm sharing an experience and showing I've learned from it. I think we need to address the types of complaining Criss because sometimes people may say something and others will construe it as complaining. Just a suggestion LMAO Thnx!

I think that your attitude determins everything about you. It determains what you wear, who your friends are, and what people think about you, ect ect. I think that if you have a bad attitude that your not going to get to many places in your life.

Elementary school? That's way too young. *sigh* Our generation is obsessed with sex.

I've already lost one person to cancer, and now I know another person diagnosed with it, my grandpa. Both people are extremely close to me. Knowing one person with cancer is already more than enough.

Now I now you can't completely guarantee you won't get cancer, but you can definantly lower the chances of getting it by taking care of your body. Like what kats_r_us_04, just don't smoke. It guarantees horrible results, temporary or permanant. If you smoke one blunt, you'll cough and hack and it just isn't good for you. If you smoke regularly, you'll most likely end up with lung, throat, or mouth cancer.

Also, what you eat affects your health and risk of disease. We all know this, but please, don't just dismiss what I'm saying here. Eating junk food every day does not do good things for your body. Most of them contain many preservatives and chemicals. Start eating healthier now(Don't get me wrong, the occasional oreo is good for your soul ). But still, there's healthy food out there that actually tastes good. Dark chocolate, citrus fruits, salmon, certain herbs; this is just a sample of the many delicious and healthy things that also keep you energized and healthy!

Please, for your sake and those that love you, please take care of yourself. It's very painful to learn that someone has any type of cancer, especially those you love.

You know, like if I was a popular girl at school, and actually recieved attention from the opposite sex. Sometimes I just wish I had that because I need self-confidence and I need to be reassured that I'm beautiful... but I feel as if being the way I am interfers with that.
SquishyPenguin, you are a beautiful person, especially on the inside.

So he spit up his own organs? Ew....well, thank you for that vivid description. I am now even more sure I'll never brethe in second hand smoke or smoke at all.

Are you bored? Press Alt then F4.

Criss, you've got a really great way of looking at things. I wish I could see life the way you do, as I'm a horrible pessimist (and even my boyfriend pointed that out to me today).

I should print out this post and keep it with me. Forever. It's a really great piece of advice. ::throws bouquets to Criss::

Talking

My dad smokes so I'm still breathing in the second hand smoke, by which polls have said, is even MORE worse than smoking itself. I can't stand the smell.

And let me tell you something

.................shh....................

My own dad REEKS as if he NEVER takes a bath

Its so true! He's been smoking so long he just has this SMELL that will NOT go AWAY. Gawd it's disgusting to be around him, but he's my dad and I love him dearly, but I am afraid for his life.

Also to share, *sigh* I'm big boned. Throughout life I've been shunned from boys, girls, and even my own family (sometimes) for just being FAT. Now the GOOD thing about it is, it's all centered around my stomach and other than that I'm just tall and kinda chubby. (My mom told me so LMAO) But i believe it too!! But when you sit back and think about it......

Why have I not had a BF? Or girl "friends" who aren't so centered on image. I mean have you ever NOT met a girl who disses other girls because they just are SO concieted by themselves? Grrr its so confusing and WRONG. I hate it because I don't think I'm the bestest (LMAO) looking thing around, but I have enough respect for myself and others not to be so D*mn rude and concieted like THAT.
I love myself and I know I need alot of work, but I'm happy. It takes ALOT to be happy, truly happy, and be shunned at the same time.

I just wish OTHERS including BOYS would see me for ME and not some "fat" girl.
(P.S. did you see the poll in the boys forum?????? Most would NOT date a "fat" girl!!!!!)

So you see it's very stressing for the bigger of us women (and girls).

But my whole thing is: As much as I try and try, I feel I never get anywhere with anyone. I told this guy I liked him.........................only to find out he dissed me behind my back (by saying I was ugly and fat *sigh* jerk) and he's an egomaniac who loves to bang women and thinks with his........ other head.

It's stuff like that that gets me steamed.

(Criss, did I do good? Am I in the right section!!!!!!?????) LMAO Sry so long!!!

Ha ha, you did fine, Cristine. I thought you were all ranting at first, but it does have a positive point somewhere in there.

Oh, yeah...

regardless of what i usually say about people not always having to have a bf/gf, sometimes i wish i did. i'm 18 and i'm almost done with high school so i've seen the usual couples right? they sort of make me sad b/c i always wonder what it'd be like to be in that situation. i've had my share of guy friends who liked me but that's it. it makes me wonder what's wrong with me? what's bad about me that people don't like?

it just depresses me every now and then
