My journey from Hell
A/N: Can you give me reviews or constructive criticism to help me improve my pieces please? I'm going to try and make this a chapter story. Thanks =]
I’m numb. I can feel the wound on my forehead spilling blood, trickling down my face to stain my nice white cotton blouse. I think my leg is broken. If it isn’t, I would be very surprised, since my dad just pushed me down the stairs. I guess I’m so used to them pushing me about, that the pain isn’t even noticeable anymore.
I get up slowly, wincing at the pulsating pain in my leg. I guess it really is broken. I struggled up the staircase, ignoring the growing fire in my leg as much as I can. I wish my parents would stop abusing me.
I put all my weight onto my good leg and open my door. I manage to close the door behind me, just as I collapse onto the ground, my leg giving out on me. I’m so angry with myself. Why am I so weak? I could phone the police, but why haven’t I done so? Maybe it’s because we’re related to each other, and I don’t want to betray them. This is my secret, and nobody will know about it. Nobody but my best friend, that is.
I started, I could hear clicking noises at my window. Painfully, I dragged myself over to my window and peered out. Sandra was there. She could help me! I opened the window and she gasped in shock.
“I’m going to throw my house key to you! Can you help me get out of here? I think I need to go to the hospital!” I whispered down to her.
She grabbed my key and bolted to the door. I could hear her thundering up the staircase to my room. She hoisted me up and we made our way down the stairs as fast as I dared, what with my broken leg.
We made it through my front door to her car. I breathed in fresh air; the cool, clean, crisp air. The night breeze made the grass ripple like waves from the sea. The treetops rustled and sighed with the wind. I was surprised at how calm the world outside my home could be. When I was inside, I felt as if I was in darkness, and the world around me was grey and dreary.
We arrived at the hospital and I was rushed to the beds when they saw my state. They asked me what had happened, and I told them half of the truth. I said that I had tripped while going down the stairs, and my parents were out. I had dragged myself to the phone and asked Sandra to bring me to the hospital.
I had to stay there for a night, and managed to pay the hospital with money from my own bank account. I was too scared what my parents would do if they found out that I had taken money to pay for my health, from their bank account.
When I got home, I was greeted with an empty house; but everything in there was trashed! I looked in every single room, but when I reached my own room, I was horrified.
My room looked like a bomb had exploded in there. My clothes were torn and lying about the place. My bed had been overturned, my computer smashed. My desk had somehow been smashed in half and my closet had been smashed. In short, my room was a disaster, and all my possessions had been destroyed. Tears streamed down my face as I took in all this destruction. I limped in and stepped over the remains of my room.
