yes its really hard i can see. the tutorial is based on internet explorer browser.
da ding dong, you should check with all browsers for a layout. mozilla, opera and useless IE. it only takes about 10 mins to download them.

I can't seem to get the layout into the right position. Can someone please look at my Xanga, and tell me what I did wrong?

Code:
table.left, td.mainleft, table.navigation, table.footer, table.search, #SearchBar1_pnlYouAreHere, hr {display: none;}
remove it using that code.

then replace it with this...

<div class='htmltop'>HTML</div><div class='htmlmain'><div style="background-color: #0F1F39; border-top: 1px solid white; border-left: 1px solid white; border-right: 1px solid white; width: 502px; padding-bottom: 2px;">
<A href="http://www.xanga.com/signin.asp">in</A>
+ <A href="http://www.xanga.com/username">blog</A>
+ <A href="http://www.xanga.com/private/home.aspx">private</A>
+ <A href="http://www.xanga.com/profile.asp?user=username">profile</A>
+ <A href="http://www.xanga.com/private/SubscribeTo.aspxuser=username">add me</A>
+ <a href="http://www.xanga.com/CLAF/default.asp">look & feel</A>
+ <A href="http://www.xanga.com/private/subscriptions.aspx">reads</A>
+ <A href="http://www.xanga.com/guestbook.asp?user=username">gbook</A> + <A href="http://www.xanga.com/private/feedback.asp">feedback</A>
+ <A href="http://www.xanga.com/logout.asp">out</A></div></div>

that code is exactly copied from him.

change username == your xanga username.
Where do I put that? In custom header? Webstats?

it makes custom mods with divs. it's pretty complex for a new designer since it requires basic web skills like CSS and div/table properties. Once you learn the basics, it becomes quite simple.

Oh small question:Is there any way to keep my div in one place? absolute and static doesn't work on Netscape. ngek.

I'm using margins and position properties, and it works nice in IE. But in Mozilla and Netscape, my alignments become messed up since those browsers usually disregard most of my CSS [link colors, font sizes, etc.].

EDIT: n/m. I say the IE only notice ^^* I suppose I'll just post a splash saying to view it in IE, ne?
