Requirements:
  • basic knowledge of HTML
i will use my latest layout, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] as an example.

Coding for BlogBody</span>

You must always remember not to close this div.

<div class=\'htmltop\'>HTML</div><div class=\'htmlmain\'><div style="position:absolute; margin-left:250px;margin-top: -315
px;border: 0px solid #000000; width: 300px; height: 100%px;background: none;overflow: auto"></div>

again, this coordinates can differ from site to site. I prefer using 100% as the height so itll continuously flow down w/o scrollbar. but then, it could change. ^^ that really depends on your taste.

remember to experiment! a webdesigner knows how to play with the codes ^^

yup and were done.

the full code for this is found [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

if u have any questions please reply to this post.

additional: this tutorial is based primarily on IE users. If you have another browser, i can't guarantee the absolute position of this. Trial and error is my only advice. Thanks tigmarque for reminding me.[/b]

I love using divs, and that's a pretty nice tutorial, but one thing that really gets to me is when I go to a site and the look is all screwed up. It looks beautiful in internet explorer but is chopped to pieces in Mozilla (my primary browser).

When you're using the position: absolute option, you should specify the top and left positions at a minimum (or the bottom and right positions).

yes its really hard i can see. the tutorial is based on internet explorer browser.

i don't know how to help you about it though >_<

you see, in xanga when you position something, it doesnt necesarily the same as it is on regular positioning. which is sad. That's why i said it differs from different layouts. Now I have to edit it specifying it differs from different browsers too >_<

im really sorry..

::adding::
